Art Auction Fundraiser

Through this event, the Lavender Rights Project aims to combat oppressive funding structures by raising funds from our communities for queer and trans legal services, supporting local queer and trans artists, and building relationships with local organizations, businesses, and community members.

Doorways / Stairs

The main door leading to the event hall, which is on the corner of 10th Ave E and E Republican St, has 8 steps outside, followed by an additional 4 steps inside. The double doors measure a total of 62.5” wide.

The accessible entrance on Broadway has a ramp and is 71” wide with double doors. Folks going through this entrance will go through two more doors, each 39.5” wide, before entering the main hall. Volunteers will be on site to direct folks to the entrances.


There is an all-gender ADA-accessible restroom on the main level (with urinals), and an additional all-gender restroom upstairs (without urinals).

Additional notes

While we cannot guarantee a fragrance-free event, we ask attendees not to wear perfumes or other scents that may impact folks with fragrance sensitivities.

Parking / Public transportation

Parking options include paid lots in the immediate area, as well as the Broadway Market parking garage below the QFC supermarket (entrance on E. Harrison Street). Limited street parking is available.

The event space is 3 blocks from the Capitol Hill Link Station, 4 blocks from the Streetcar, and 1-4 blocks from the following bus lines serving Capitol Hill: 8, 10, 43, 49, 60.

Call for Art

Priority Deadline: Monday, November 12

The Lavender Rights Project is now accepting art submissions for our Art Auction on Friday, December 14! Please read the submission guidelines in full and check back soon for up-to-date information about the event.


  • Art should be 2D and ready to hang, or a small sculpture - please be sure to include accurate dimensions in your submission form

  • Artists should plan on transporting their piece(s) to the venue - more details about drop-off coming soon

  • Artists may submit up to three original pieces; however, each piece should have its own submission form

  • An image of each piece should be emailed to after the form has been submitted (photos of multiple pieces can be sent in the same email)

  • Artists who submit by the priority deadline will be notified of submission acceptance or denial by Friday, November 16, 2018

  • Lavender Rights Project reserves the right to exclude pieces based on number of submissions and venue space; content that is anti-black, racist, xenophobic, ableist, or otherwise not in alignment with the organization’s core values of social justice and liberation for all; or other factors which will be communicated directly to the artist by LRP staff

  • Note: While we will not ask for the identities of artists who submit a form, we would like this auction to focus on supporting the experiences, realities, and talents of LGBTQ+ folks. Please be mindful of this when submitting art for this event.
