The Reckoning Trade Project aims to train, educate, and retain non-traditional blue-collar workers from a community-based framework that addresses intersections of oppression from a legal, systemic, and historical approach with a focus on queer, trans, and gender non-conforming people, especially queer and trans people of color.

Held on the second Monday of every month, RTP’s Organizing Meetings provide a space for community members to get involved with RTP, learn more about what we’re doing, and share ideas.

What to Expect

At each meeting, RTP members check in regarding their progress on previously-assigned tasks, revisit previous discussions, vote (as voting Board members) on any actions, and share new opportunities and ideas.

Community members are welcome to attend any Organizing Meeting and learn about what the group is working on, or dive right in and take on group tasks for the following month.

Monthly Work Group Meetings are held on the last Monday of each month from 5:00-7:00pm at the Lavender Rights Project and offer a time for RTP members to get together and work on their assigned tasks. Check the calendar for upcoming dates.

Accessibility

The Lavender Rights Project office is semi-accessible:

Entrance: 36” doorway, door swings open/closed but is not automatic, no steps

Restroom: Single stall gender neutral, 29” doorway, interior width of 43” between sink and wall, sink height of 31”, no bar next to toilet

Layout: Open floorplan with flexibility to easily move tables, chairs, desks, and anything else that may cause limited accessibility throughout the space

Scents: The office is not currently scent-free, but we strongly encourage attendees not to wear perfumes or oils to accommodate our community members with fragrance sensitivities

Please contact us if you have accessibility requests and we will do our best to accommodate.
