Have you avoided drafting, completing, or updating your estate planning documents? With professional estate planning assistance costing well over $700, many people are unable to access legal help, while simultaneously feeling unprepared to tackle these important decisions on their own — particularly people within the LGBTQ+ community who have unique concerns, needs, and family structures.
Join GenPRIDE and the Lavender Rights Project for a free LGBTQ+ Estate Planning Clinic, open to the public, where we will:
Cover all the basics of what should be included in your estate plan, from healthcare directives and wills to funeral instructions and codicils
Discuss how to prepare your own estate plan, with special attention to the unique concerns of LGBTQ+ communities
Offer hands-on assistance with drafting personalized estate documents, including sample documents
GenPRIDE offers important new opportunities to develop and test multi-generational solutions to the challenges facing LGBTQ midlife and older adults, building on the many strengths across the generations. Our organization currently offers classes to reduce isolation, improve wellness and support social networks, and provide evidence-based training to help providers work more competently with LGBTQ older adults.
GenPRIDE is ADA accessible. There are both stairs and an elevator that go to the second floor inside QFC, both of which are located at the south end of the building.
There is one gender-neutral restroom outside of the GenPRIDE office -- attendees can ask for the key to this restroom.
GenPRIDE is not scent-free, but we strongly encourage participants to limit their use of fragrances and perfumes in order to make the space more accessible for our attendees with fragrance sensitivities.
