Thank you for your interest in donating your time, knowledge, and skills to the community members receiving services from the Lavender Rights Project.
We currently have available volunteer opportunities for:
Prisoner name change clinics
Volunteers assist incarcerated trans and gender non-conforming folks across the state who are pursuing a legal name change. Volunteers provide help with administrative and research tasks and are not required to have a legal background. Clinics are held every third Tuesday of the month.
Attorneys are able to volunteer at monthly legal clinics for the trans and queer community and/or assist the Lavender Rights Project staff with pro-bono representation.
Law students are welcome to complete internships / externships with the Lavender Rights Project and assist staff with legal research, client contact, drafting pleadings, and additional legal work as is needed or desired based on interest.
Board of Directors
Applications for LRP’s Board of Directors will be available soon. For updates on this process, visit our Board page.
If you have a particular area of interest or skill set you’d like to utilize at LRP, we’d love to hear from you! While financial support may not always be available, LRP does have the capacity to offer supervision, mentoring, and access to resources and networks to help you fulfill your vision.
As the Lavender Rights Project aims to better connect with the community, we are seeking help with hanging flyers, curating content for social media and our blog, and other outreach-based responsibilities.
If you have skills and experiences that match our current volunteer needs, please fill out and submit an interest form below with your information. Staff from the Lavender Rights Project will contact you regarding your submission within five (5) business days.
