LRP’s Housing Justice work stands at the intersection of compassion and action.

Comprising of the Wellness Nexus, a forthcoming permanent supportive housing facility of 32 units (2025), and an active role in education, policy, and advocacy across government groups, our mission is to cultivate a healthy, healing, honored, and housed community for Black gender diverse individuals in King County. We are dedicated to equity, anti-racism, integrity, justice, and embracing adaptability to best serve our clients and community.

Holistic Support for Black Community in Washington State


The Wellness Nexus is dedicated to enhancing the holistic well-being of Black individuals by providing resources and referrals in the areas of Physical Wellness, Mental Wellness, Spiritual/Social Wellness. Our program envisions a community where individuals thrive in every aspect of their lives.

Our Housing Justice Team: Ariyah Jané Albert (she/her), Community Counselor • Bri’a Love (she/her), Housing Manager • Ebo Barton (he/him), Director of Housing Services

  • Resource Assessment: We identify and assess available resources, practitioners, and programs in the areas of Physical Wellness (medical care referrals, fitness, naturopathy), Mental Wellness (therapist referrals, support groups, non-traditional therapy), Spiritual Wellness (religious groups, astrology, art), and Social Wellness (events, social gatherings, meetups).

  • Referral Network: We have established partnerships with healthcare providers, therapists, fitness centers, spiritual practitioners, and community organizations to create a network of trusted referrals.

  • Wellness Workshops: We host workshops, seminars, and skill-building sessions in each wellness area to educate and empower participants.

  • Individual Wellness Plans: We develop personalized wellness plans for participants, addressing their unique needs in each dimension of well-being.

 “The House”

A by-and-for permanent supporting housing program for QT2BIPOC in Seattle, Washington


Lavender Rights Project (LRP) and Chief Seattle Club announced on Monday, April 24, 2023, that they have been selected as joint operators of King County Health Through Housing’s newest program, a 35-unit building providing permanent supportive housing for QT2BIPOC (queer, trans, Two-Spirit, Black, indigenous, and people of color) in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Through this program, LRP intends to serve QT2BIPOC individuals chronically experiencing homelessness in King County and specializes in supporting Black trans women, femmes, and non-binary people. We aim to invest in the overall wellness and health of our community by providing services for physical, mental and spiritual wellness, and offering a safe space for rest, work, and meeting.

The House is scheduled to open in early 2025.

Nationwide Housing Initiatives for Our Community

TWOCSN's House of Constance - Seattle, Washington

TWOC Solidarity Network upholds the self determination of Two-Spirit, Trans Women and Femmes of color and creates opportunities to exercise community care. In celebration of our beloved Constance, they are raising funds to buy an apartment building that will be named in her honor and run by-and-for Black and Brown Binary and Non-Binary Trans People.

Pride Place by GenPride and Community Roots Housing - Seattle, Washington

GenPride and Community Roots Housing are building Seattle’s first affordable housing project designed to be an affirming environment for LGBTQIA+ seniors. The project will provide 118 apartments, with a mix of studios and 1-bedroom units – as well as a community and health services center

Queer the Land - Seattle, Washington • queertheland.org

Queer The Land is a collaborative project grounded in the self-determination of queer, transgender, and Two-Spirit Black/ indigenous/ people of color (QT2BIPOC) and the vision of collectively owning our land and labor. Founded in Summer 2016, we’re working to establish a cooperative network anchored by a community center and transitional and semi-permanent housing that meets the needs of working-class QT2BIPOC in the greater Seattle area.
